Butter Caramels Recipe
- 1/2 cup nuts, finely chopped
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups half and half
Butter an 8-inch square pan. Spread the nuts in the bottom of the pan and set

Bring ingredients to a boil and stir constantly. Once boiling, add the rest of the
half and half and stir.
Add a candy thermometer and cook over medium heat. Bring the mixture to the
"firm ball" stage (244 - 248 degrees). Don't exceed this temperature.
Immediately spread the mixture over the nuts in the pan. Allow caramels to cool.
Cut into 1 inch squares and wrap in candy wrappers if desired.
