Fish Taco Recipe

Finally, a fish taco recipe that's easy and delicious! This baja fish taco is unique. The toppings really make it special. Serve it with a side of freshly made authentic guacamole and your guests will swear they went to Cabo for dinner!

Fish Tacos

  • 1 pound flaky white fish such as tilapia
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ancho chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 soft taco shells

Top these tacos with these traditional fish taco toppings:

  • Spicy sour cream; mix 1 cup sour cream with 1/2 of the homemade taco
  • seasoning packet recipe
  • shredded white cabbage
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Tomato salsa

Mix dry spices, lime juice, and cilantro in a small bowl and pour over the fish. Allow the fish the marinate for about 15 minutes.

Heat the oil in a cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Pan fry the fish for about 5 minutes, turning once after three or four minutes and continue to cook until done. Fish should easily flake apart when it's ready.

Flake the fish apart using a fork and serve in soft taco shells with the toppings listed above.
