This decadent chocolate glaze recipe is the finishing touch to a chocolate ganache cake. Nothing could be more satisfying to a chocolate lover than layers upon layers of chocolaty variety.

Chocolate Glaze Recipe

The chocolate ganache cake is just that - a moist and rich chocolate cake with a chocolate truffle-like filling called ganache. Coated by yet another layer of silky smooth rich chocolate.

The recipes below are everything you need for the most indulgent chocolate experience you'll ever have. This recipe is so good that I once had a friend eat two entire cakes in one weekend (true story).

You can also use this glaze recipe to dip fruit, or as as a lovely topping for cupcakes.

Chocolate Glaze

Ingredients:
  • 6 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 1 stick of butter (8 tablespoons)
  • 1 tablespoon of light corn syrup

Place the ingredients in a medium heat safe bowl. Place the bowl in a skillet of simmering water. Stir constantly until the glaze is almost completely smooth, then remove it from the heat. Continue to stir until the glaze is perfectly smooth.

Allow to glaze to cool until it is barely warm. Pour the glaze over the center of ganache cake. Using a cake spatula, swipe the glaze (using a few stokes as possible) over the top of the cake and allow it to run down the sides of the cake.
